Ghana Model United Nations XIV
33 students from DPSI participated as delegates of various countries in the conference of Ghana Model United Nations XIV organized by Lincoln Community School from 31 Jan to 2 Feb 2019.It consisted of Environmental Council, Human Rights Commission, General Assembly, Security Council and Disarmament Committee. The delegates collaborated with each other on the issues pertaining to their committee. Resolutions were drafted and debated on the second day. The second day of the conference ended with a social gathering where delegates had an opportunity to mingle with delegates from other schools over scrumptious dinner. Lunch and snacks were served on all three days.
The delegates tried to solve Real world issues such as The violence in Eastern Ukraine, Coral bleaching in Oceania, Prevention of the practice of Female Genital Mutilation in East Africa, issue of Taliban stronghold in Afghanistan, Prenatal care in the Middle East etc. Each delegate worked through the policies and perspectives of their assigned countries.
Jeet Thakwani was awarded the BEST NEW DELEGATE in Environmental Council.
Shriman Jha recieved an Honourable Mention in the General Assembly.
